“Fall Back” This Weekend!

It’s that time of year again! Time to change the clocks and “fall back”.

Officially this Sunday, November 4th, 2018, at 2:00 am we turn the clock BACK one hour — to 1:00 am — as we end Daylight Saving Time. (And yes, the correct spelling is “Saving” not “Savings”. There should be no “S” on the end!)

Roof Cleaner also wants to remind everyone that now is also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. Even most of your “hard wired” detectors have a battery backup, so make sure those batteries are in working order. It’s a good idea to check the batteries twice a year, so doing it the same time you change your clocks is an easy way to remember when you checked them last.

If you are interested in the history of changing our clocks in the spring and fall, here is the history of Daylight Saving Time in the United States.

Many of us look at the time change as a sure sign that winter is not far off. That means it is time to begin thinking about cleaning the leaves out of those rain gutters and eventually dealing with ice dams on your roof. Let Roof Cleaner help with all of those issues!
