Spring has arrived and now it’s Baseball Season!

The Detroit Tigers kicked off their season on Thursday, March 28th on the road in Toronto. The Tigers beat the Blue Jays 2-0! The first home game for the Tigers at Comerica Park is on Thursday, April 4th against the Kansas City Royals.

If you are a big Tigers fan, you’ll want to print out the season’s schedule and have it available. Here is the official printable schedule from the Detroit Tigers.

Also this year at Comerica Park, you will hear a new P.A. announcer. It is none other than Jay Allen! You have probably heard Jay as the announcer at Grand Rapids Hoops games, Grand Rapids Rampage games, and also for the West Michigan Whitecaps. He has also worked at many different radio stations in West Michigan. Read more about Jay Allen’s new job from mlive.com.

Locally, the West Michigan Whitecaps kick off their season on Thursday, April 4th in South Bend, IN. The first home game for the Whitecaps will be on Saturday, April 8th, also against the South Bend Cubs. Here is the official printable schedule from the West Michigan Whitecaps.

This year will also bring some new food items at Fifth Third Ballpark. The Rocky Balburrito is sure to be a favorite. It’s a cheesesteak that is rolled into a burrito with cheese, onions and green peppers — and then deep fried!

Other new items include: Deep Fried Bread Pudding, Pork Skin Nachos, Top N’ Go Fritos, Sweet Corn Nuggets, and more. For adults to wash down the food, there will be Wine Slushies and Coppercraft Bourbon!
